It only seems like five minutes since I returned home from an adventure, but inexplicably it’s time to head out on the road again.
Over the Easter break I’m taking myself on an epic road trip to the Highlands of Scotland, which will include Royal Deeside, Inverness, John O’Groats and the Orkney Islands. I can’t wait!
I already have a few crafting plans arranged:
I’m visiting Caithness Glass in Crieff, to see how they make their lovely paperweights – I’ve even got the opportunity to make my own with one of their glass-blowing experts!
As I will be heading up to the Northernmost point of the mainland, I’m going to have the chance to visit Kingcraig Fabrics in Brora – I have bought lots of gorgeous yarn from them in the past, but I think I’ll need a spare suitcase when I visit the actual shop! My credit card isn’t going to like this…
As well as spending time in some amazing scenery, exploring breathtaking coasts and sampling wonderful food and drink in the Highlands, I’m also spending 4 days in the Orkneys, and will be exploring the amazing neolithic sites of Skara Brae, the Ring of Brodgar and the Standing Stones of Stenness. If you know of any craft stores or artists’ galleries on the Orkney mainland or any of the other islands, then please let me know!
If there’s time at the end of the trip, I might just be able to go searching for Nessie…
